Job description
Position Overview
This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations related to Mortgages Real Estate within the Consumer Banking Credit Valuation division. The incumbent will handle valuation dispute monitoring and resolution while fostering collaboration with external vendors, mortgage product teams, sourcing channels, and bank branches across the UAE to optimize property valuation processes for Commercial Real Estate, Estate Finance, and Vanilla Products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute all relevant departmental policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines to maintain a consistent, controlled approach to property valuations.
- Uphold the organization’s ethical standards and values, promoting a culture driven by these principles within the bank.
- Identify and suggest opportunities aimed at process improvement, standardization, and sustainability aligned with global benchmarks and productivity targets.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely turnaround times (TAT) and reports that fulfill department policies and quality standards.
- Provide essential support for resolving escalations and disputes raised by the Mortgages Real Estate Consumer Banking Credit Valuation unit.
- Conduct review and approval of financial invoices submitted by external vendors in coordination with mortgage product teams regarding valuation fee charges.
- Monitor and manage controls essential for compliance with the valuation processes.
- Analyze valuation reports to detect and correct discrepancies ensuring accuracy.
- Review invoices for inconsistencies and outstanding charges related to external service providers.
- Adhere strictly to policies, consulting appropriate authorities to resolve issues and guarantee efficient service delivery to bank customers.
- Serve as backup to initiate property valuation requests with external valuators for mortgage loans.
- Develop and present MIS statistics, monthly valuation reports, presentations, and consolidated daily status updates for key stakeholders.
- Manage initial valuation requests, addressing queries and concerns effectively.
- Return requests with noted corrections to branches after identifying discrepancies.
- Process received valuation requests ensuring completeness of documentation and fees before forwarding to valuators.
- Cancel valuation requests if inspections cannot be conducted and initiate alternative requests as necessary.
- Evaluate responses from valuators, comparing asking prices with market values or rents, and request revisions or corrections to reports when needed.
- Operate within the policies and governance framework of Group Credit Mortgage Valuation and overall organizational structures.
- Authorized to make decisions as per the established valuation approval process and provide concurrence to valuation firms and sourcing channels.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Banking, or a closely related field.
- Have a minimum of three years’ relevant professional experience, including at least one year in a comparable property valuation role.
