Job Overview

As a Collections Officer at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) based in Abu Dhabi, you will play an integral role in managing cases related to collections and legal actions, collaborating with law firms, and supporting recovery processes. This role demands a keen sense of self-management along with professional knowledge of banking regulations and legal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and accomplish performance objectives yearly in alignment with your line manager's expectations.
• Identify and pursue necessary training to enhance role-specific competencies and skills.
• Stay informed about banking policies, central bank regulations, and market developments.
• Coordinate with external law firms for matters involving ADGM court cases, cheque executions, repossessions, civil cases, and other bank-related litigations.
• Support team members by acting as a backup during their absence across various legal and collection functions.
• Monitor and manage vendor relationships, particularly with law firms handling Abu Dhabi cases, ensuring timely filings and documentation submissions.
• Participate in expert meetings and review relevant legal documents such as commentaries and memos.
• Maintain all case-related system updates and legal flags conscientiously.
• Manage escalated or referred requests tied to collections received through diverse channels, driving them to effective resolution.
• Collaborate closely with collections and recovery teams to provide legal advice and support as necessary.
• Retrieve and return original case files in accordance with established policies.
• Complete mandatory training on time and comply fully with company guidelines, encouraging adherence without engendering negative feedback.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree is the minimum educational requirement.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience within the banking industry focusing on collections or legal case management.
