Role Overview

The Operational Risk Automation and Intelligence Execution (ORAIE) Analyst in Deel's Operational Risk Management (ORM) team is an active operator tasked with managing risk workstreams and incidents thoroughly. This role emphasizes practical problem-solving using AI tools, ownership of automation projects, and producing high-quality outcomes that withstand enterprise-level scrutiny.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of risk management streams such as Operational Resilience, Product Operations, and Third-Party Risk.
  • Convert risk framework documentation into practical tools used by the business.
  • Lead risk assessments, define controls, and carry out evidence gathering with an end-to-end approach.
  • Facilitate cross-department risk discussions, prepare organized pre-meeting materials, and ensure actions are assigned and tracked.
  • Create and maintain necessary data sets, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and dashboards; develop automations where none exist.
  • Resolve open risks and issues with comprehensive documentation derived from execution rather than merely coordination.
  • Deliver insightful risk analysis and reports suitable for leadership presentation on the first attempt.
  • Ensure precise and timely reporting by addressing root causes rather than symptoms.
  • Integrate operational risk considerations into product and engineering change projects from the outset.
  • Monitor and incorporate emerging operational risks within managed workstreams.
  • Promote consistent operating discipline with regular updates, standardized tools, and transparent documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least five years' experience in operational risk, business operations, revenue operations, or top-tier consulting; financial services background is a plus but operational proficiency is prioritized.
  • Curiosity and insight into risk-related operational challenges such as flawed processes, overlooked signals, and accountability issues.
  • Hands-on experience with risk programs including RCSAs, KRIs, incident management, third-party risk, operational resilience, or change risk management is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail in managing structured risk data and identifying patterns.
  • Proficient daily user of AI tools (like Claude, agent platforms, Cursor, or equivalents) with confident fluency.
  • Comfortable with low-code platforms (e.g., Zapier, Workbench) and able to script using Python or SQL basics as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for report writing and stakeholder engagement.
  • Professional certifications such as ORM, CRISC, or FRM are desirable but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The salary is offered as a gross base amount, converted to local currency and aligned with market rates based on experience, skills, and location.
  • Offers are determined based solely on role requirements and candidate qualifications without consideration of salary history.
  • Opportunities to receive stock grants depending on role, employment status, and location.
  • Additional perks and benefits that vary according to employment terms and country of work.
  • Flexible remote work arrangements, including optional access to WeWork office spaces.

Equal Opportunity Commitment and Diversity

Deel is committed to equal employment opportunity and encourages applications from all qualified candidates regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or other legally protected statuses.

Accessibility and Hiring Process

Applicants with disabilities or requiring accommodations during recruitment are encouraged to request assistance to ensure equity throughout the process. The hiring procedure mainly involves interviews and role-specific assessments, with human oversight maintained in all decisions. Automated tools and AI systems may be used to evaluate candidates based on skills and qualifications in compliance with data protection and labor laws.
