Algorithm Engineer (Recommendation/Search)

About the Role

An international freight and logistics platform is seeking an Algorithm Engineer to join their team based in Singapore. The role involves developing and refining algorithms pivotal to business growth and optimizing user experiences through advanced data-driven methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and enhance matching, transaction, and marketing algorithms to support business expansion.
• Implement data-driven algorithmic solutions that improve user experience and overall business effectiveness.
• Manage the complete machine learning pipeline including data preparation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
• Work collaboratively with product and business teams in China to pinpoint areas for enhancement and deliver effective solutions.
• Utilize modern and emerging AI/ML methods to address practical business challenges and drive innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with minimum 2 years of practical experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, search, or advertisement domains.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, with additional experience in causal inference, forecasting, reinforcement learning, or optimization being advantageous.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Chinese to engage with stakeholders based in China.
• Proficiency in programming and familiarity with major machine learning and deep learning frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a strong passion for algorithms and a data-focused approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to work autonomously and deliver results under pressure.
