About the Role
Join a growing mid-sized mining technology company based in Perth that is heavily investing in its digital and data capabilities. As a Solutions Architect on the Platform team, you will collaborate with software, data, and platform engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to create scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions.
This role involves translating business needs into practical technical architectures while providing overall guidance for the evolution of the company's data and platform landscape. Unlike traditional roles in large mining corporations, this opportunity allows you to design and implement innovative technology solutions alongside talented professionals, influencing the future technology stack of an expanding company.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect scalable solutions across cloud, data, and software platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to convert requirements into technical implementations.
- Lead the design and continuous advancement of new data platforms.
- Offer technical leadership and establish architectural standards and best practices.
- Create cloud-native, highly available, and scalable solution designs.
- Work with APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and data services.
- Review and recommend new technologies to enhance the technology environment.
- Identify technical risks and dependencies and propose improvements.
- Support engineering teams through the implementation phases.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates possess substantial experience as Solutions Architects, Technical Architects, Lead Engineers or Senior Engineers who thrive on solving complex technical challenges and enjoy close collaboration with engineering teams.
- Proven background designing and delivering cloud-based architectures.
- Experience with data platforms, data architecture, or data engineering.
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, system integrations, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud-native and contemporary architectural patterns.
- Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- In-depth knowledge of security, performance, scalability, and reliability considerations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
Additional advantages include expertise with Azure or AWS cloud platforms, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Kubernetes, Terraform, event-driven architectures, and proficiency in .NET/C# or Python. Experience in the mining, resources, or industrial technology sectors is a plus.
