About the Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) invites applications for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers specializing in mechanical systems to join the AH-64 Apache helicopter sustainment and support team based in Townsville, Queensland. This role supports the ongoing operation and readiness of the advanced attack helicopter fleet, which plays a vital role in Australia's defense and joint operations.

Position Overview

The AH-64E Apache program delivers enhanced combat helicopter capabilities including precision strikes, reconnaissance, and close air support. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will engage in hands-on maintenance, systems engineering, supply, and test activities directly impacting operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on aircraft and components adhering strictly to authorized procedures.
• Stop work prior to inspection checkpoints until cleared by supervisors.
• Complete all assigned tasks along with any ancillary duties comprehensively.
• Maintain accurate and detailed technical documentation and reports.
• Manage and prioritize personal and team workload efficiently.
• Authorize work completion by endorsing documentation in line with Responsible Manager approvals and competency records.
• Assist Team Leaders in conducting workplace assessments to meet team requirements.
• Proactively suggest solutions and methods to enhance team and organizational performance.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possession of a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) or an equivalent trade qualification.
• Completion of an Apache familiarisation course (Certificate of Approval provided).
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines effectively.
• Proven track record of fostering productive relationships within complex organizational environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of aviation Quality Assurance protocols and aircraft maintenance/modification procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards.
• Experience utilizing technical manuals and publications relevant to aeronautical product repairs.
• Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and directives.
• Certification for Working at Heights qualification.
