Air Freight Pricing Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Implement the Air Freight (AFR) Pricing Strategy through effective execution of associated plans and processes.
• Provide prompt and competitive pricing responses for inquiries.
• Maintain up-to-date local tariff information with regular monitoring and accuracy.
• Lead the development of Requests for Quote (RFQ), especially for priority projects, including detailed guidance and kickoff meetings for critical RFQs.
• Handle daily documentation related to freight forwarding shipments, assist in tender preparation, and ensure timely submission of all necessary paperwork.
• Create and update databases containing detailed information to support swift responses to network-related questions.
• Foster strong working relationships with customers and airlines, including active involvement in commercial negotiations.
• Generate and analyze carrier performance reports and perform performance evaluations.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to improve services and processes, ensuring cost-efficient and competitive pricing; negotiate rates with airline suppliers that satisfy service requirements and transit deadlines.
• Stay current with new solutions, services, trade lanes, and traffic trends impacting the industry.
• Offer guidance and direction to less experienced or new team members.
• Analyze daily operational challenges and implement best practices in AFR pricing to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Management Responsibilities

• Serve as an individual contributor with potential supervisory responsibility for up to two staff members.
• Oversee workflow and processes, potentially directing lower-level professionals.
• Provide coaching, assistance, and performance reviews for junior colleagues.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification, combined with relevant professional experience.
• More than four years of pertinent experience in relevant roles.
