AI Project Manager (Features) - AI Data Service Operations

About the Team

The AI Data Service and Operations (ADSO) team supports TikTok's international products by providing data annotation services focused on safety and non-safety content, search operations, and customer service, contributing to a secure data ecosystem. The Eco Governance unit within ADSO specializes in data labeling projects that aid content strategy and AI/LLM model development to enhance user experience while ensuring negative content is properly controlled.

Role Overview

As a Project Manager in the Eco team, your primary responsibility is to oversee the entire lifecycle of AI data annotation projects. You will enhance operational productivity and assure quality by designing effective project plans, tracking progress, engaging various stakeholders, and fostering ongoing improvements and process efficiencies to meet project milestones and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct multiple data annotation initiatives, ensuring all projects meet established performance standards and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Act as the chief point of contact for internal stakeholders, translating business and product requirements into concrete labeling project directives, aiding workforce planning, and crafting detailed implementation schedules.
• Implement delivery governance by coordinating with QA, vendors, and business teams through regular operational reviews and issue resolution systems.
• Utilize analytical tools to monitor project performance, identifying deviations and conducting root cause analyses to maintain high standards of quality and operational efficiency.
• Lead efforts to refine workflows by spotting inefficiencies, designing improvements, and collaborating with technical teams to integrate automation for scalable solutions.
• Manage risks and changes proactively by identifying potential delivery obstacles, formulating mitigation strategies, and overseeing smooth transitions.
• Prepare comprehensive reports distilling project data into actionable insights and guidance for leadership and cross-functional partners.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated history of managing AI data annotation or similar large-scale data operations, including content moderation projects.
• Proven ability to execute projects successfully with cross-functional internal teams and external vendor collaborators.
• Advanced proficiency with data tools such as Excel, SQL, and dashboard creation, employing data-driven methods for performance evaluation and troubleshooting.
• Experience in continuously enhancing operational quality and implementing process optimizations.
• Capacity to independently manage multiple projects and priorities, delivering quality results within deadlines.
• Strong skills in stakeholder communication and management, with experience working in fast-paced, regional, or global team environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with training and assessing AI models, specifically large language models (LLMs).
• Experience with machine or hybrid human-machine labeling workflows.
• Relevant certifications in project management methodologies such as PMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma.
