Job description
About the Position
We are looking for a skilled AI Engineer to join our product team focused on delivering an AI-driven workforce intelligence platform tailored for the energy, resources, and infrastructure industries. This role involves transforming innovative concepts and prototypes into dependable and scalable software solutions ready for production.
Main Duties
- Design and implement candidate matching, ranking, and semantic search systems.
- Create applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic workflows.
- Develop AI-enhanced search, screening, and recruitment processes.
- Extract and organize information from resumes, profiles, and other unstructured data.
- Build backend services, APIs, and data pipelines to support AI functionalities.
- Integrate AI technologies within full-stack applications.
- Deploy and sustain AI systems in production environments using cloud infrastructure.
- Optimize AI solutions for reliability, speed, latency, and cost efficiency.
- Establish evaluation mechanisms, safeguard protocols, and error-handling routines.
- Leverage structured and unstructured data to enhance intelligence and matching precision.
Candidate Profile
- Between 2 to 8 years of commercial experience in software, AI, or machine learning engineering.
- Proficient in Python programming and backend/API development.
- Proven track record in building and deploying AI systems ready for production.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, or agentic applications.
- Knowledge of RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector search methods, and reranking techniques.
- Understanding of evaluation methods for LLMs, managing structured outputs, prompt engineering, and implementation of guardrails.
- Familiar with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Experience using Docker, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), logging, and monitoring tools.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and vector databases.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or Flowise.
- Frontend development skills including React, Next.js, or TypeScript.
- Experience with knowledge graphs or entity resolution methodologies.
- Integrations with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions.
- Background in recruitment, HR technology, or marketplace platforms.
- Experience or exposure to sectors like energy, mining, or infrastructure.

- Must be located in Australia, preferably in Perth, WA.
- Ability and willingness to work remotely within Australia; Perth-based applicants may work from the Perth CBD office.
- Full legal rights to work in Australia.
- Strong commercial experience in software engineering.
- Documented experience in independently developing and deploying production-ready AI solutions.
