About the Role
Enerflex Ltd. is inviting innovative AI Scientists to join their Asset Management division. The role centers on crafting AI-driven solutions aimed at improving operational efficiencies, optimizing maintenance approaches, extending asset longevity, minimizing operating expenses, and enhancing equipment safety. Candidates passionate about leveraging advanced AI tools such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs) to tackle industrial challenges will find this opportunity ideal.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI applications focused on predictive and preventive maintenance.
- Develop strategies to extend the lifespan of assets.
- Drive initiatives to reduce operational costs through AI solutions.
- Enhance the safety and reliability of equipment using AI technologies.
- Utilize LLMs and SLMs to enable intelligent automation and support decision-making processes.
- Work collaboratively with diverse teams to identify and exploit AI opportunities.
- Operate within Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystems and integrate AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, confidentiality, and procedural standards.
- Provide well-structured, timely progress updates and project documentation.
- Investigate and appraise new AI methodologies and emerging technologies.
- Adapt flexibly to shifting project requirements and organizational priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of experience in AI or machine learning development, especially within industrial or asset-heavy sectors.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or equivalent languages.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and AI integration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and embedding it into enterprise processes.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capability to work autonomously while aligning with team objectives.
- Willingness to undertake international travel as needed.
- Strict observance of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- Strong documentation and reporting discipline.
- Collaborative and self-motivated mindset committed to continuous innovation.
- Knowledge of asset management systems or familiarity with industrial operations in gas compression and processing industries.
- Understanding of maintenance management frameworks such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM).
- Awareness of data governance, security, and compliance relevant to AI applications.
- Ability to translate business needs into effective technical AI solutions.
