Team Overview
The Regulatory Effectiveness group at WorkSafe was recently formed to better focus on regulatory impact by improving risk comprehension, intervention design, and impact evaluation. Within this group, the Product Design and Development team is responsible for creating and maintaining products, guidance, and content that support health and safety improvements across the country. This team collaborates closely with Product Leads, policy advisors, digital experts, and subject matter authorities to deliver user-centered, impactful products.
Role Summary
This role offers the exceptional chance to influence how artificial intelligence is leveraged at WorkSafe to enhance products and services. As an AI Enablement Lead, you will provide strategic leadership to speed up AI adoption in product management and development. Collaborating with Product Leads and experts, you will design, integrate, and improve AI-enabled solutions and workflows to drive practical business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Leads, policy teams, and digital departments to embed AI functionalities within product development and management processes.
- Create, refine, and optimize AI agents, prompt libraries, and other AI-based tools as part of product workflows.
- Spot opportunities for enhancing research, drafting, testing, and content updating activities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Mentor and coach teams to develop their AI capabilities and support sustained use of AI-driven methods.
- Ensure all AI-generated results comply with governance, regulatory standards, and quality assurance protocols.
Candidate Qualifications
- Proven experience analyzing business workflows and translating operational requirements into AI and automation solutions.
- Ability to design and optimize AI-powered workflows, prompts, and agents that facilitate scalable operations.
- Strong grasp of effective prompt crafting, context conditioning, and the necessary human oversight to guarantee reliable AI outputs.
- Experience in teaching or coaching teams to adopt AI technologies in a practical, ongoing manner.
- Understanding of governance frameworks, information management, and risk mitigation to promote secure and compliant AI use.
- Capability to establish partnerships, influence decision-making across diverse groups, and promote innovative working methods.

Employment Details
Two permanent roles are available, with flexible WorkSafe office locations. Salary range is NZD 112,754 to 147,932 annually, with initial appointments between NZD 112,754 and 124,480 inclusive of employer KiwiSaver contributions which will increase to 3.5% from April 2026.
