Role Summary
The AH64/AH6i Technical Inspector functions within Aviation Maintenance Quality Control/Quality Assurance under the guidance of the Quality Control Manager. This role involves inspecting and approving aircraft conditions marked with red 'X' and circle red 'X' related to various systems including airframe, power-train, power-plant, armament, electrical, and avionics. The inspector determines when Maintenance Test Flights or Operational Checks are necessary, interprets inspection standards for maintenance personnel, and uses precision measuring instruments and alignment tools to ensure compliance.
Collaboration with Weight and Balance technicians is essential for accurate record keeping according to customer specifications. The inspector serves as a QC Data Analyst, manages technical and compliance records, establishes quality control processes and standards, and oversees maintenance safety. Training maintenance and technical inspector personnel and maintaining a current technical library are also key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough quality inspections on aircraft, components, equipment, and vehicles, including avionics and armament systems.
- Inspect tools and equipment used on-site for maintenance tasks to ensure safety and quality standards.
- Perform intermediate and final inspections during maintenance, repairs, modifications, and overhauls.
- Review procedural and maintenance documentation for compliance with approved methods.
- Support Quality Deficiency Report processes and assist with accident investigations and cost assessments.
- Develop and implement maintenance quality control systems, procedures, standards, and reporting in line with supply chain operations.
- Investigate quality control issues and maintenance-related inquiries, reporting findings to the Quality Control Manager.
- Ensure safe execution of all maintenance-related activities.
- Assist with Downed Aircraft Recovery Team operations and protocols as needed.
- Provide training to maintenance staff and technical inspectors, including logging on-the-job training data.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Quality Control Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Associate's degree is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Completion of the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s Qualification Verification Program is mandatory for employment eligibility in Saudi Arabia.
- Possess Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Inspector Authorization (IA) certification.
- Experience and training specifically with the AH-6i Technical Inspector role.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
- At least 10 years of experience working with AH-6i, MD-500 series, MH-6, OH-58, and AH-64 aircraft.
- Experience as a Technical Inspector on listed aircraft or related MDS.
- Minimum of 5 years maintaining mission design series similar to those specified.
- Proficiency with Automated Weight and Balance Software (AWBS).
- Note: Applicants not qualified as A&P or familiar with designated aircraft series will be required to complete a post-hire AH-6i familiarization course.
