About the Role
This position offers a unique chance to contribute significantly to New Zealand's financial system while collaborating with dedicated and skilled colleagues. As part of the Communications and Delivery team, you will join on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide cover during a professional development leave period. This role involves working on a broad range of internal and external communications projects.
You will be integral to the External Relations and Communications team, tasked with creating compelling content that aligns with the FMA's strategic goals and enhances stakeholder engagement through various digital and in-person platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and expand the FMA's presence on social media and online communities with consistent, engaging, and audience-centered content.
- Develop top-quality written, visual, and multimedia materials for diverse internal and external audiences.
- Contribute to the management and promotion of the FMA's podcast series.
- Maintain and update internal communication tools such as the Intranet site ‘Ātea’ and Viva Engage.
- Lead graphic design initiatives and create visual materials for both digital and print media.
- Analyze social media performance and community engagement metrics, utilizing insights to enhance outcomes.
- Assist with planning and executing communication campaigns, organisational projects, and initiatives.
- Offer reliable communication advice and support throughout the organisation.
Candidate Profile

- At least three years of writing and editorial experience within in-house or agency communications, engaging with diverse audiences and formats.
- Strong skills in writing, editing, and content creation across various channels.
- Expertise in social media tools, current trends, and best practices to drive audience interaction.
- Experience with social media monitoring, analytics, evaluation, and community management.
- Familiarity with managing content on platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and X, as well as marketing and paid media channels.
- Excellent analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional skills in prioritisation, time management, planning, and organisation.
- Capacity to quickly build credibility, trust, and respect.
- Self-management capabilities with good social awareness, diplomacy, and influence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably design software such as Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
Additional experience in graphic design, photography, video production, or podcast content creation is highly desirable.

Additional Information
The role’s salary range is approximately $95,000 to $105,000 annually, plus the 4% KiwiSaver employer contribution and outlined benefits.
