Job description
Role Overview
We are recruiting a permanent 12-hour Accuracy Checker to join our branch at 123 Main Street, Burley-in-Wharfedale, LS29 7JN. The standard working shift is Monday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break on Tuesday.
Primary Responsibilities
As a qualified Accuracy Checker, you will play a critical role in enhancing patient pharmaceutical care by performing essential safety checks on dispensed medicines approved by a pharmacist. This involves final checks on listed medicines while interpreting patient information accurately, understanding legal obligations, and adhering strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs). You will also provide constructive feedback to staff, help reduce errors, and foster a culture of patient safety.
Customer Service and Team Involvement
Maintaining excellent customer care standards across the branch is a key part of your role. You will build strong customer relationships by identifying their needs and delivering knowledgeable and friendly advice on products and services. Additionally, you will actively coach colleagues to uphold these standards and contribute positively to the team environment.
Skills and Attributes Required
The role demands meticulous attention to detail, the ability to perform well under pressure, and meet strict deadlines. A passion for pharmacy and excellent interpersonal skills are vital as you will work closely with a well-established team ensuring customers receive high-quality service.
Qualifications
It is essential to have completed the Accuracy Checking Course (ACT Qualification) and you will need to renew this certification biennially to confirm your competency in conducting final accuracy checks under the supervision of a Responsible Pharmacist.
