Job description
About the Role
We seek a meticulous Accountant with 2-3 years of practical experience to oversee daily financial operations, maintain precise accounting records, and assist the finance department with various reconciliations, tax filings, and routine month-end closures. The position is located in Thane, Mumbai and requires a full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately maintain ledgers and books of accounts, ensuring all financial data is properly recorded.
- Manage daily accounting activities such as processing sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Prepare and regularly update Bank Reconciliation Statements and conduct ledger reconciliations.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures.
- Compile financial statements including Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and other reports.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Vet invoices, expense claims, debit and credit notes, along with necessary supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations including GST and TDS.
- Collaborate with auditors by supplying relevant financial reports and documentation.
- Monitor and manage outstanding receivables and payables to maintain financial accuracy.
- Maintain proper documentation and organize accounting files systematically.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues within accounting records promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the accuracy of all financial information.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping standards.
- Knowledgeable about GST and TDS regulations and compliance procedures.
- Proficient in MS Excel and experience using accounting software such as Tally ERP or Tally Prime.
- Experience in preparing Bank Reconciliation Statements, scrutinizing ledgers, executing journal entries, provisions, and closing entries.
- Strong analytical mind and good numerical aptitude.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with high accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal and external teams.
- Educational background: B.Com, M.Com, CA Intermediate, or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with proven experience in comprehensive accounting processes, tax management, reconciliation, and financial reporting will have an advantage.
