Accountant

About the Company and Role

IIQAF Group, based in Doha, Qatar, operates within the hospitality industry and is looking to hire a meticulous and seasoned Accountant. This full-time role involves managing financial functions to ensure accurate and compliant accounting supporting hospitality operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Keep financial records precise and current following established accounting standards and procedures.
• Document daily accounting entries, such as journal entries, invoices, receipts, payments, and ledger adjustments.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable operations efficiently.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including purchasing, procurement, stores, front office, food and beverage, sales, payroll, and overall operations.
• Validate purchase orders, goods received notes, invoices, and suppliers’ statements for accuracy.
• Contribute to inventory financial accounting, stock audits, food and beverage cost surveillance, and expense tracking.
• Provide support for payroll accounting and process employee-related expenses as needed.
• Assist in audit preparations by supplying documents and supporting schedules to audit teams.
• Maintain both physical and electronic organized accounting documentation.
• Generate customized financial reports and analyses upon management’s requests.
• Advocate and participate in the enhancement of accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and control mechanisms.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
• Previous roles as Accountant, General Accountant, Hotel Accountant, Hospitality Accountant, Staff Accountant, or Accounts Officer.
• Experience within hospitality sectors such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, catering, or food and beverage is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, financial reports, and ledger management.
• Independent as well as team-oriented work capability.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays, as hospitality operations demand.
