Role Overview
We seek a customer-oriented, results-driven Account Manager based at our Head Office in Auckland. This role focuses on managing, growing, and retaining a portfolio of key government, corporate, mining, and corporate travel accounts within the Hertz brand. The position emphasizes building long-term partnerships, driving incremental sales, customer satisfaction, and profitable revenue growth, including generating new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Strengthen and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and decision-makers across the assigned geographic area to ensure retention, growth, and profitability.
- Identify and secure new profitable business prospects through diligent market research, networking, lead generation, and proactive business development strategies.
- Lead tender processes by coordinating comprehensive and competitive responses that focus on solution-based sales.
- Develop and present competitive pricing and contract proposals using strong negotiation tactics to secure favorable business terms.
- Analyze customer activity, market patterns, competitor performance, and emerging opportunities to pinpoint initiatives for growth and increased market share.
- Achieve or surpass sales targets across various market segments and ancillary products to guarantee a positive return on investment.
- Formulate annual business plans and account strategies, managing resources effectively to meet objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement by recommending and implementing process efficiencies that improve customer experience and business results.
Candidate Profile
- At least 2 years of experience in account management, business development, travel industry, or other complex customer-centric environments with a track record of growing current accounts and identifying new business.
- Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills capable of influencing decision-makers at all levels while balancing customer and business needs.
- Proven expertise in sales, strategic account management, tender management, contract negotiation, and delivering commercial outcomes.
- Strong analytical and financial skills, able to interpret customer, market, and financial data to uncover trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills combined with attention to detail and customer service focus.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM software to handle customer interactions, sales tracking, reporting, and contract workflow.
- Effective problem-solving, organizational, and strategic planning abilities, including independent work capacity, priority management, and fostering continuous improvements.
- Resilient, results-focused, adaptable, collaborative, and ethical with strong commitment to achieving goals and nurturing positive relationships.
- Willingness to travel several times a year within the territory and occasionally interstate as necessary.
