Accommodation Porter

About the Role

The Salthill Hotel seeks an Accommodation Porter to support the housekeeping department by ensuring guest rooms and public areas are spotless, well-maintained, and prepared for visitors. This role involves physical activity and plays a critical role behind the scenes in upholding the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and guest service.

Key Duties

• Assist room attendants by removing used bedding and linens.
• Deliver fresh towels, linen, and complimentary items to guest rooms.
• Gather and transport laundry, waste, and recyclables.
• Restock housekeeping carts and storage spaces.
• Support room turnover preparations for incoming guests.
• Relocate beds, furnishings, and additional items such as cots or rollaway beds.
• Maintain tidiness in corridors, service zones, and linen storage.
• Address guest requests courteously, including providing extra pillows, blankets, or towels.
• Politely deliver requested items to guest rooms.
• On occasion, assist guests with luggage or provide directions.
• Keep hallways, stairwells, and service areas clean.
• Participate in deep cleaning initiatives when required.

Requirements

• Ability to collaborate well within a team environment.
• Strong eye for detail and thoroughness.
• Basic English communication skills are generally necessary.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
• Previous hotel or cleaning experience preferred.
• Familiarity with health and safety as well as hygiene protocols.
