Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Abatement Lead Engineer to provide both technical and operational leadership for Sub-Fab Abatement systems at the Intel Ireland campus in Leixlip, County Kildare. This full-time, Monday-to-Friday onsite role entails ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations of customer equipment while fostering team growth, operational excellence, and high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion and lead a world-class safety culture, ensuring full compliance with Applied Materials and customer safety standards.
• Identify and mitigate risks, lead safety investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain high-quality standards by managing non-conformances through to resolution.
• Lead, coach, and mentor engineering and technician teams, fostering a collaborative "One Team, One Goal" environment.
• Manage workforce planning including resource allocation and vacation scheduling to sustain operational effectiveness.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation contact for production-impacting equipment issues, coordinating resolution efforts and root cause investigations.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders during critical situations.
• Identify technical skill gaps and support training development to enhance team competency and knowledge sharing.
• Support employee performance feedback, talent development, and contribute to operational and commercial objectives.
• Establish and maintain trusted customer relationships, representing Applied Materials professionally, and collaborating to identify operational and reliability improvements.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Sub-Fab Abatement systems or similar semiconductor Sub-Fab equipment.
• Proven capabilities in troubleshooting and problem solving in technical environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading technical teams and coordinating activities in fast-paced operational contexts.
• Strong dedication to safety, quality, and customer service excellence.

Compensation and Additional Details

The salary for this position ranges from €48,000 to €66,000 annually, with the final offer depending on location, experience, knowledge, and internal equity. The compensation package also includes comprehensive benefits, and eligibility for bonus and stock award programs where applicable. This role does not require travel and is not relocation eligible.
