ABAP Technical Consultant

Job Overview

This role focuses on maintaining the availability, performance, security, and dependability of SAP systems by carrying out effective Basis administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and providing technical assistance across all SAP landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and sustain SAP systems ensuring their optimal operation.
• Continuously monitor system health, availability, and overall performance, managing SAP instances, profiles, parameters, and services.
• Conduct systematic checks and resolve issues impacting DEV, QA, and production environments.
• Manage SAP Transport Management System (TMS) including transport configuration and managing transports across various environments.
• Execute SAP kernel upgrades, patching, system refreshes, migrations, and upgrades while enforcing change and release management policies.
• Oversee SAP application and database performance, analyzing system logs, dumps, and workload to troubleshoot and resolve performance and availability problems.
• Monitor essential components such as background jobs, RFCs, and interfaces, performing root cause analysis to swiftly address technical incidents.
• Administer SAP technical user management and resolve access-related issues, support SAP security measures and vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Supervise database and SAP backup operations, assist in restoration and recovery processes, contribute to disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) testing exercises.
• Provide technical consulting and support for SAP Basis issues, coordinate with related teams (functional, ABAP, database, network, infrastructure) during SAP implementations, integrations, and migrations.
• Maintain thorough technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and mentor team members to enhance continuous improvement.

• Adhere strictly to organizational policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental standards to deliver safe and high-quality outputs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management Sciences and Systems or a related discipline.
• Between 4 and 6 years of professional experience in relevant technical or functional areas.
• Competencies include Network Analysis, Network Design, knowledge of Network Operating Systems, Network Integration, Data Transfers, Data Replication, and Metadata Analysis.
