Web Development Internship (Remote) at EASTEAM

About the Internship

This internship offers a hands-on role in a dynamic New York-based contemporary womenswear brand and creative house, EASTEAM, known for its innovative fusion of clothing, storytelling, and imagery. The intern will be integral in supporting the scaling of their digital presence through Shopify during a critical growth phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refresh product, collection, and landing pages for new product launches on the Shopify platform (easteamny.com).
• Implement minor layout and style adjustments within Shopify themes, utilizing HTML and CSS skills effectively.
• Ensure mobile site performance and aesthetics are maintained, recognizing majority of users are mobile shoppers.
• Conduct thorough testing of website features including links, pop-ups, forms, and the checkout experience prior to launches.
• Manage site optimization tasks involving page speed, image handling, and foundational SEO elements such as page titles, alt texts, and URL cleanliness.
• Maintain a clear, concise log documenting all website changes made, including reasons behind them.
• Contribute data-driven ideas and insights at biweekly website strategy meetings to improve user experience and performance.

Candidate Eligibility

• Applicants must be available to work from home for the duration of the internship (3 months) beginning between October 3rd and November 7th, 2026.
• Ideal candidates include women seeking to commence or restart their careers.
• Applicants should possess relevant web development skills and interests.
• Preference given to Computer Science Engineering students.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Practical experience working with Shopify or comparable platforms such as Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress.
• Ability to confidently read and edit HTML and CSS code.
• Attention to detail with a strong design sensibility, ensuring elements are visually aligned and user-friendly.
• Proficient communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Independent task management ability with proactive issue reporting.
• Reliable internet connection, personal computer, and availability aligning with team working hours.

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of Liquid templating or JavaScript.
• Experience or familiarity with Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, or Klaviyo.
• Fundamental skills in Figma design tool.
• Possession of a personal portfolio, online store, or website as demonstration of work.
