Senior Program Controls Specialist

Job Overview

Join Honeywell Technologies in Auckland as a Senior Program Controls Specialist, where you will collaborate with integrated project teams to develop comprehensive program plans, establish cost and schedule baselines, and produce detailed performance metrics and reports. This role involves analyzing variances, ensuring compliance with corporate standards across multiple teams, and providing mentoring leadership to develop team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead creation of project control plans, work breakdown structures, budgets, and schedule baselines to assess project success using key performance indicators on complex multi-site projects.
• Integrate cost and schedule data to analyze project performance, including management of receivables and payables for assigned projects.
• Identify root causes for cost and schedule variances relative to baselines and propose corrective measures.
• Prepare and disseminate financial and performance metrics reports.
• Drive forecasting, project reviews, and monthly progress updates to stakeholders both internal and external.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques and use S-curves for program monitoring.
• Manage change, risk, and Lead Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes within assigned programs.
• Foster effective communication and coordinate with internal and external project teams to build strong relationships.
• Ensure adherence to Governance Program Management Office (GPMO) standards and Management Operating System (MOS) policies.
• Collaborate with business management such as program managers, directors, and finance to report financial outcomes.
• Oversee compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
• Lead or participate in internal improvements or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over seven years of experience in project controls roles.
• Solid understanding of project management frameworks including cost management, schedule baseline development, time-phased budgeting, and performance measurement techniques.
• Experience engaging with external clients and stakeholders.
• Strong influencing skills across organizational hierarchies.
• Exceptional communication capabilities to relay complex information clearly and appropriately.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsiga.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Project, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Expertise in collecting, analyzing financial data and managing metrics.
• Certifications such as Project Management, PMI-SP, or Cost Engineering preferred.
• Proven skills in cost control, scheduling methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Lean, Scrum), contract, and time management.
