Job description
Role Overview
Amey invites applications for a dedicated General Building Operative to join their team based in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. This permanent full-time position offers a 37.5-hour workweek spanning Monday to Thursday, with Fridays off. Salary ranges between £26,020 and £33,110 yearly depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in a team environment to perform general building maintenance tasks and assist skilled tradespeople on site.
- Provide professional support services including escorting contractors where necessary.
- Execute various DIY tasks such as decorating interiors, mounting notice boards, constructing furniture, and repairing items throughout the premises.
- Inspect appliances, fixtures, and the general environment to ensure functionality and promptly report any defects to the Team Leader.
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping standards, including litter collection and landscaping duties around the grounds as needed.
- Carry out additional facilities management duties as directed by the team manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Enthusiasm to develop new skills relevant to building maintenance and operations.
- Effective team collaboration skills and strong time management abilities.
- Relevant certification such as a CITB qualification or NVQ trade certificate.
- Proven hands-on experience in general building maintenance and DIY tasks.
Security and Work Environment
- The position is located within a nuclear restoration site requiring operation in controlled zones.
- Applicants must be willing to work in regulated environments and obtain Baseline Personal Security clearance, with full support provided by employer.
