Job description
Overview
We seek a skilled Project Engineer specialized in Fire Protection Services with strong technical expertise and substantial hands-on experience. This role focuses on the management and execution of fire protection systems across project phases, primarily serving industries such as Oil & Gas, EPC, industrial, commercial, and extensive construction developments within the Doha area.
Primary Duties
- Lead and oversee engineering and installation processes related to fire protection systems throughout project lifecycles.
- Analyze and interpret fire protection drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements thoroughly.
- Collaborate with clients, engineering teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project workflow is seamless.
- Ensure all fire protection installations comply with NFPA standards, Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), and project documentation standards.
- Prepare and validate shop drawings, material submittals, technical reports, and method statements.
- Supervise site operations ensuring adherence to design, quality, timeline, and safety requirements.
- Perform technical inspections to confirm that fire protection systems are correctly installed, tested, and commissioned as per project standards.
- Assist in material procurement planning, quantity calculations, and resource allocation.
- Support project documentation management, including progress monitoring and coordination meetings.
- Address technical challenges by devising practical engineering solutions.
- Create and revise AutoCAD drawings and manage any design modification requests.
- Contribute to cost estimation and tendering efforts as necessary.
Candidate Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 to 6 years’ relevant experience in fire protection engineering and project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Mandatory certification as a QCDD Firefighting Engineer.
- Required UPDA certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA codes and Qatar Construction Specifications.
- Demonstrated background in Oil & Gas, EPC, industrial, commercial, or large construction projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
- Strong expertise in fire protection system installation, testing, commissioning, and project oversight.
- Effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Capability to perform well under project deadlines within site-based settings.
- Experience with estimation activities is advantageous.
