Job Overview

The Director - Sales will lead efforts focused on Hyperscale key accounts across the EMEA region. Collaborating closely with regional and global leaders, you will steer account strategies aimed at growth, profitability, and deeper customer engagement. This role also involves supporting the execution of the Architects, Engineering and Contractor (AEC) program by coordinating early engagement throughout the data center project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market and sell a broad portfolio of Wesco Anixter’s Data Center solutions, including structured cabling, physical security, electrical solutions, high-density liquid cooling, networking, IoT, and Pro-AV, within a defined territory.
  • Promote Wesco Anixter’s services for design, comprehensive project deployment, enhancements, and rack & roll implementations.
  • Collaborate internally across multiple business units, contributing as an integral part of a dynamic sales team.
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with vendors and alliance partners to enhance sales opportunities and project pipeline.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and effectively resolve any post-sale issues.
  • Employ sales management tools for planning, supplier coordination, and opportunity documentation.
  • Analyze competitive market landscapes and provide key insights to stakeholders.
  • Design and administer sales plans focused on customer satisfaction, meeting quotas, and motivating staff.
  • Achieve annual sales and profitability targets through strategic implementation and trend analysis in collaboration with regional and business unit management.
  • Forecast sales volumes and profit potential for current and new products or clients.
  • Build and expand supplier relationships at national, regional, and local levels.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitor pricing to maintain sales volume and product mix.
  • Participate in professional development through workshops and industry publications to uphold technical and professional knowledge.
  • Regularly communicate forecasts and strategic details to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Sales, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 7 years of professional sales experience within the industry.
  • Over 5 years of leadership experience managing teams and programs at national, district, or regional levels.
  • Knowledge of business management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership methods, and coordination of personnel and resources.
  • Proven skills in devising and executing sales strategies to meet forecasted goals.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive landscape and market intelligence with ability to communicate across key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of excellent customer service, including needs assessment, quality standards adherence, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Superior verbal, written, analytical, persuasive, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, provide leadership, and adapt flexibly to changing situations.
  • Excellent time management and proficiency with computer systems.
  • Willingness to travel between 25% to 50% of the time.

Working Environment

This is an outside sales role primarily based in an office setting; however, frequent travel to customer sites and warehouse facilities is expected. The job may require extended periods of driving with multiple stops and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
