About the Role
This opportunity is offered by an independently owned franchisee operating a McDonald's restaurant in Belmar, NJ. Unlike McDonald's USA, the franchisee independently manages all employment matters including hiring, staffing, discipline, and scheduling. Thus, your employer will be the franchisee, not McDonald’s USA.
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire restaurant operation to ensure profitability and adherence to McDonald's rigorous standards for Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. This role requires leadership in setting goals, managing departmental managers, and fostering a team-driven environment to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead every facet of restaurant operations including food preparation, customer service, and workforce management.
- Collaborate with departmental managers to establish and track department-specific goals, while offering coaching and guidance.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop department and shift managers to maintain a strong leadership pipeline.
- Make informed business decisions regarding inventory control, budgeting, and food cost management.
- Enforce food safety protocols to meet or exceed McDonald's standards of excellence.
- Maintain high safety standards for both guests and employees.
- Oversee operational needs including maintenance planning to ensure the restaurant operates efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven prior experience as a General Manager, preferably in high-volume quick service restaurants; experience in hospitality or retail also considered.
- Must be at least 18 years old to qualify for managerial roles within corporate-owned restaurants.
- Strong commitment to workplace excellence and safety.
- Excellent customer service orientation with ability to anticipate and meet customers' needs.
- Effective communication skills and ability to make agile decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in food safety management.
