As an Asset Inspector, you will play a hands-on role in maintaining public infrastructure by inspecting roads, pathways, drainage, and other assets. Your work will involve defect identification, prioritisation of maintenance work, and helping ensure safety and reliability of community facilities.

Position Details

• Employment: Full-Time, Permanent
• Department: Infrastructure Services, Civil and Asset Operations Branch
• Classification: Queensland LGIA (Stream A) State 2017, Division 2, Section 1
• Remuneration: Base salary of $84,823 per annum; Total Remuneration Package $96,281 including 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading
• Location: Noosaville Depot

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of roads, pathways, drainage, and other public infrastructure to identify defects and hazards
• Assess and prioritise maintenance and repair works, issuing work orders aligned with Council service standards
• Maintain precise asset and inspection records within council management systems
• Respond to public requests, investigate asset-related issues, and assist with infrastructure condition assessments

Candidate Profile

You are an experienced, detail-oriented professional focused on safety and excellent customer service. You have prior exposure to civil construction, infrastructure maintenance, or asset inspection, and you are proficient in using mobile devices and management software for field inspections. Strong written and oral communication skills, problem-solving ability, and independence in managing tasks are essential.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience relevant to civil construction, asset inspection, or maintenance tasks
• Understanding of maintenance practices for roadways, pathways, bridges, and drainage
• Competence in identifying infrastructure defects and evaluating repair needs
• Familiarity with mobile technology and asset management systems for inspection and data recording
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and adaptable to new computer systems
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work autonomously and balance competing priorities

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Civil Construction or related technical certification, or substantial applicable experience
• Possession of a Construction Industry White Card, or willingness to acquire before starting
• Current C Class driver licence
• Current R Class motorcycle licence
