Software Engineer - Java / Python Automation

This opening is for a Software Engineer with solid experience in Java and Python, focused on engineering software development and automation of technical workflows. The position is based in Chennai and involves building standalone applications, integrating with engineering tools through APIs, and improving process efficiency through scripting and automation.

Experience and Location

Candidates should have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. The role is located in Chennai, India. The notice period expected for this opportunity is 30 days, and the compensation will be aligned with company norms.

What You Will Do

• Develop standalone software applications using Java, including both user interface and backend logic.
• Work with Java APIs to connect with commercial engineering analysis tools.
• Build and support automation solutions for engineering and simulation workflows.
• Write and maintain scripts using Bash, Windows batch files, Python, and Perl.
• Use Git and GitHub for version control and collaborate through standard source control practices.
• Work with Gradle and related build tools to package and manage Java applications.
• Operate comfortably across both Linux and Windows environments.
• Coordinate with simulation and engineering teams to understand workflow needs and turn them into reliable automation.
• Track work in Jira and maintain traceability from requirements through delivery.
• Create documentation, user guides, and support team training for delivered tools.
• Assist in automating data handling and visualization tasks using Java and Python.

Technical Profile

The preferred candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java development, Python programming, scripting, API-driven automation, and cross-platform execution. Exposure to CFD simulation-related process automation is considered an added advantage.

Eligibility

This role is open to candidates holding a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
