Senior Java Developer - Digital Project

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Java Developer to become a vital member of our Digital Project team. This role involves architecting, developing, and sustaining enterprise-level Java applications and microservices that underpin digital solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong command of Java technologies, Spring Boot framework, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native developments, focusing on secure, scalable, and performance-optimized software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support Java-based enterprise-level applications.
• Create scalable microservices utilizing Java and Spring Boot technologies.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs to enable both internal and external system integrations.
• Work closely with solution architects, analysts, front-end developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable software products.
• Engage actively in design and architectural discussions to contribute to technical excellence.
• Enhance application efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Integrate software with various databases, messaging queues, and third-party platforms.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented source code adhering to best practices.
• Perform code reviews and provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced developers.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents with sustainable solutions.
• Develop automated tests including unit and integration to ensure quality.
• Support continuous integration and deployment processes.
• Guarantee adherence to security standards and application of secure coding methodologies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java application development.
• In-depth knowledge of Java 11 or 17 and newer versions.
• Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
• Proven skill in developing RESTful services and microservices architecture.
• Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, and clean software architecture.
• Experience working with Hibernate/JPA frameworks.
• Proficient in SQL databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with version control using Git and modern CI/CD tools and pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with containerization platforms such as Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud providers like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent analytical and debugging capabilities paired with strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively within teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with messaging systems including Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Working knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis.
• Understanding of API Gateway concepts and service discovery mechanisms.
• Familiarity with security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
• Experience using monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
• Exposure to Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience in telecom or digital transformation projects is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in Java development or cloud technologies are advantageous.

Additional Details

Work schedule aligns with industry standards, generally Sunday to Thursday. Business hours are approximately 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Kuwait Time. The role is target-driven and may necessitate flexible working hours, including odd-hour availability as required.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates holding degrees such as B.Tech or B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Computer Science and Business Systems, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, or a B.C.A. in any specialization are eligible to apply.
