Job description
Overview
This full-time onsite role located in Western Australia involves assisting tradespeople in performing various maintenance duties across commercial and residential properties managed by Programmed Facility Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Trades Team under the supervisor's guidance with reactive and general maintenance duties on different contract facilities and homes.
- Support installation and repair of wooden fixtures such as cabinets, doors, floors, and frameworks.
- Help in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing components including pipes, valves, and drainage systems.
- Assist with electrical work, including installation and repair of lighting fixtures, switches, and switchboards, involving rough-in and rough-out tasks.
- Use hand tools and power saws as needed while complying with safety regulations.
- Adhere strictly to safety data sheets for chemical handling and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Candidate Profile and Required Qualifications
Ideal candidates are experienced tradespeople with a background in domestic or commercial environments. Attention to detail, commitment to quality service delivery, a proactive team-player attitude, and first-class customer service skills are vital.
- Experience in large commercial or industrial work environments is preferred, particularly with carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
- Mandatory possession of a Construction White Card and a valid C Class driver’s license.
- HRWL (LF) License is advantageous.
- Right to work legally in Australia is essential.
- Ability to clear client pre-employment medical exams, including instant drug and alcohol tests.
- Current National Police Check within the last 6 months is required.
- First aid certification and trade-related competencies are desirable.

- Familiarity with systems like MS Office and web-based work order management software (e.g., Loc8) for safety, payroll, and training.
- Strong teamwork mindset paired with ability to self-motivate and follow instructions.
