Overview

At The Home Depot in Encinitas, CA, Cashiers serve an essential function in delivering prompt, courteous, precise, and secure service to customers. Their key tasks include managing checkout and return exchanges, overseeing the Self-Checkout area, and actively enhancing their product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively while identifying opportunities to promote sales.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions accurately across various points including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Maintain and monitor the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth customer experience.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to reduce shrinkage.
• As Head Cashier, assign Cashiers to tasks, assist with price verifications, approve transactions and markdowns, and provide first-level escalation support for customer concerns.
• Assist in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates and new Cashiers, utilizing all available resources to foster their development.

Qualifications

• Prior experience of at least one year as a Cashier is preferred for Head Cashier positions.
