Role Overview

We seek backend developers to build the fundamental infrastructure of BJAK's AI-powered Neobank app. The position involves constructing dependable APIs and workflows to support scalable financial products serving millions across various markets and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs for onboarding, account management, payments, cards, transfers, rewards, travel, foreign exchange, KYC, and risk workflows.
• Architect systems that reliably handle real customer transactions, operational processes, and future financial offerings.
• Integrate with internal platforms, financial partners, payment gateways, AI tools, and external services.
• Ensure backend system excellence across reliability, security, latency, monitoring, data accuracy, and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile, and AI teams to swiftly and securely launch new features.
• Enhance current infrastructure by simplifying processes, eliminating manual tasks, and automating repetitive operations.

Candidate Profile

• Proven production experience as a backend engineer.
• Solid grasp of API development, database management, authentication, authorization, queueing, jobs, events, and seamless integrations.
• History of building services that support real users or critical internal functions at scale.
• Strong abilities in debugging, ensuring reliability, data security, and maintaining data quality.
• Capable of balancing considerations such as development speed, accuracy, scalability, and maintainability.
• Experience in fintech domains like payments, banking, digital wallets, KYC, fraud prevention, or risk management is advantageous but not mandatory with strong foundational skills.

• Developers interested only in isolated backend coding tasks.
• Those neglecting security, data consistency, system monitoring, or operational risks.
• Individuals uncomfortable with rapidly evolving product requirements.
• Applicants with theoretical scaling knowledge lacking real production system experience.

Additional Information

The ideal candidate should have concrete technological achievements that demonstrate personal contributions to significant product or system development and scaling. The role is fully remote but restricted to professionals based in Singapore to serve the local market effectively. English fluency is essential as it is the primary language for global team communication.
