About the Role
Skills Group Employment is seeking a driven, commercially savvy Account Manager to enhance our Wellington team. This role emphasizes fostering relationships, supporting apprentices, and expanding our network of host employers.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and cultivate new host employer partnerships to increase placement capacity and expand Skills Group Employment's network.
- Maintain and strengthen existing employer relationships through understanding workforce needs and delivering customized solutions.
- Offer regular mentorship and welfare support to apprentices with site visits and frequent interaction.
- Address employment-related issues such as performance, conduct, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns.
- Collaborate with internal teams to synchronize placements, training, employer satisfaction, and employment success.
- Represent the organization at industry functions and contribute to continuous improvement strategies and commercial growth.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in business development, account management, or stakeholder relations is essential.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with the confidence to negotiate and influence.
- A commercial mindset with proactive identification and pursuit of business opportunities.
- Background in mentoring, pastoral care, employment relations, or similar people-focused roles.
- Familiarity with employment legislation and health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of apprenticeships or vocational education, plus adaptability to dynamic environments.
- Trade qualifications in the electrical sector are advantageous but not mandatory.
