About the Role
The Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), a non-governmental organization focused on HIV, tuberculosis (TB), and cancer research, treatment, and prevention, is seeking a Study and Data Coordinator for its International Research Centre of Excellence (IRCE) based in Abuja (FCT). This temporary research position is affiliated with the OUTCOME Study, which investigates drug-resistant TB treatment outcomes in Nigerian children.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the OUTCOME Study, coordinating research assistants during child participant enrollment, clinical reviews, and site activities.
- Administer the REDCap database by managing user permissions, performing ongoing data cleaning and error correction, and conducting data quality assurance audits.
- Oversee biorepository-related sample collection logistics, ensuring proper cold-chain transport and long-term specimen storage in coordination with site laboratories and the IHVN Biorepository team.
- Prepare periodic progress reports for Principal Investigators, contribute to academic research publications, and ensure compliance with institutional ethics board requirements and Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess at least a Master’s degree in Public Health, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrate experience in clinical or public health research, supported by at least one accepted conference abstract or published journal article.
- Proficient in REDCap administration, statistical analysis software such as Stata or R, Microsoft Excel, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledgeable in health research ethics compliance, coordination of clinical trials or observational studies, biobank sample management, data quality auditing, and staff supervision.
