Job Overview
A prestigious global life sciences and analytical instrumentation firm seeks a Software Quality Test Engineer to join their team in Harwell, Oxfordshire. This position is site-based on an 18-month temporary contract with a competitive annual salary ranging between £40,000 and £48,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structured manual testing including regression, integration, workflow, usability, and system-level tests.
- Develop, update, and execute test cases and procedures to verify software against specified requirements.
- Identify, document, investigate, and monitor software defects until resolution.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams comprising engineering, product management, applications, and quality assurance.
- Assist in release qualification and maintain regulatory documentation such as compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in software testing and quality assurance, emphasizing manual testing expertise.
- Strong systems-thinking ability, capable of assessing comprehensive end-to-end customer workflows involving both software and instrumentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for engaging with stakeholders.
- Desirable qualifications include background in scientific or analytical instrumentation, Raman spectroscopy knowledge, familiarity with regulated industries, test automation experience, and Agile methodologies.
