Role Overview
You will join a distributed agile team developing a new SaaS platform supporting enterprise applications to address complex data analytics and enterprise challenges. You will ensure that the frameworks and products developed meet design, implementation, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a worldwide team of backend engineers to design, develop, and architect the core backend platform.
- Create architecture, functional specifications, design documentation, and testing plans.
- Produce reliable, secure, efficient, and scalable code.
- Conduct code reviews and perform in-depth analysis.
- Monitor and respond to platform performance issues and be available for critical incident management.
- Coordinate with customer support to resolve client-reported issues.
- Integrate emerging technologies into cloud backend infrastructure.
- Assess and implement new technologies to add value to the infrastructure.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least 8 years of software development experience including familiarity with container technologies such as Docker.
- Proven ability to build highly available, scalable distributed cloud systems.
- Professional programming experience in GoLang, Python, or Java.
- Strong skills working with Linux and Bash scripting.
- Solid software development processes including rapid release cycles, peer code review, and writing thorough functional/unit tests.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful HTTP/2 services.
- Proficient with both SQL databases like Postgres and NoSQL systems such as MongoDB or Elasticsearch.
- Expertise using performance tuning, code profiling, and software metrics analysis tools.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
- A creative problem-solving mindset to address complex engineering challenges.
- Energetic, collaborative, positive attitude with a drive to continuously learn.
- Knowledgeable about networking and web technology fundamentals.
- Attention to detail, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience building distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Understanding of infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and Helm.
- Knowledge of network services such as load balancers, security controls, and Quality of Service (QoS).
- Experience managing platform-level concerns including configuration management, network routing, blue/green or canary deployments, and in-service updates.
- Capability to build API-based connectors to cloud SaaS platforms is an advantage.
- Comfort working independently.
