Role Overview
Join the team driving crucial innovation to protect cloud infrastructure by developing technologies that empower AWS services to defend against advanced cyber threats. The Informatics team is responsible for the security telemetry mission at AWS, handling the collection, enrichment, and distribution of massive security-related datasets from millions of hosts worldwide.
As a Security Software Development Engineer on the Informatics team, your focus will be on designing and building software solutions that gather, refine, and distribute Linux security telemetry data. Your contributions will be vital in supporting security and auditing functions across AWS teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable and high-performance solutions to collect, enrich, and disseminate vast volumes of security telemetry data, optimizing storage and compute efficiency to meet AWS’s availability standards.
- Drive automation to increase operational efficiency and ease of execution for both the team and customers, tackling complex security challenges.
- Take full ownership of feature scope, design, development, testing, and deployment, ensuring global regional functionality.
- Work collaboratively with a diverse, skilled team passionate about data and application security, sharing knowledge through documentation, design and code reviews, and pairing sessions.
Work Environment and Tools
You will engage in building and maintaining software related to Linux security telemetry using Go, Python, and TypeScript, leveraging AWS’s full technology stack. Continuous integration and delivery pipelines will be part of your daily responsibilities.

Qualifications
- Proven professional experience in software development (non-internship).
- Experience architecting or designing reliable and scalable systems using recognized design patterns.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- EU Member State nationality is required for this position.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
- Preferred: Familiarity with full software development lifecycle processes including coding standards, code review practices, source control, build systems, testing methodologies, and operational support.
