Role Overview
This contract opportunity is for a Senior Software Developer based in Qatar, focused on building, configuring, testing, and supporting TSYS Prime and related card management solutions. The role combines hands-on software engineering with customer project delivery, technical troubleshooting, and collaboration across business and technical teams.
Knowledge and Experience
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Demonstrated background in TSYS Prime development, including solution design and implementation on the platform.
- Strong command of one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, along with familiarity with web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Practical experience working with TSYS Prime APIs, integration methods, and interface development.
- Good understanding of software delivery practices such as Agile and Scrum, plus version control tools like Git and SVN.
- Excellent analytical thinking, careful attention to detail, and strong troubleshooting ability.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfort working independently, managing multiple priorities, and performing well in a fast-moving environment.
- High proficiency in software development related to CDF for ICCP, especially in control for commercial payments and smart data.
- Strong working knowledge of CMS/card management systems, specifically TSYS Prime.
- Understanding of configurations, data elements, and interfaces, including knowledge of ISO8583 network message standards.
Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and maintain TSYS Prime applications in line with project requirements and accepted industry practices.
- Partner with business analysts and other stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
- Develop software integrations with TSYS Prime platforms while maintaining reliable functionality and performance.
- Test applications thoroughly to uncover defects, configuration issues, and performance concerns.
- Support production systems and troubleshoot issues to ensure fast and effective resolution.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering designs, code, and operational procedures.
- Take part in code reviews and contribute ideas that improve development standards and delivery processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to keep work aligned with project timelines, priorities, and business goals.
- Guide and mentor junior developers on best practices for TSYS Prime development.
Project Execution and Customer Interaction
- Lead end-to-end customer projects using the global project methodology.
- Support customers through implementation, ensuring adherence to required rules and documentation.
- Manage customer escalations independently.
Software Development
- Carry out software development and TSYS Prime CMS configuration so it matches the schema specifications required for smart data and ICCP integration.
Technical Skills and Testing
- Test data elements, configurations, and interfaces thoroughly to ensure accurate validation of customer network systems used for financial payments and customized service interactions.
Product Implementation and Readiness
- Implement complex pilot products and evaluate readiness for commercial release.
- Provide technical guidance on schema product offerings.
Collaboration and Efficiency
- Work with cross-functional teams to complete projects within agreed timelines and budget.
- Maintain clear communication and handle escalations efficiently.
