Overview
GFL Environmental is hiring Recycling Sorters for the newest and largest Materials Recovery Facility in Western Canada, located in Calgary, Alberta. This position supports recycling operations by sorting reusable materials efficiently and delivering strong service to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
This is an afternoon shift role with working hours from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The company is looking for people who care about environmental sustainability and want to help build a cleaner, greener future.

Qualifications
- Genuine interest in environmental sustainability
- Ability to handle physically demanding work, including long periods of standing and repeated lifting of 40+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify and separate recyclable materials accurately
- Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills
Responsibilities
- Separate recyclable items such as paper, glass, plastics, and metals from incoming material streams
- Inspect material quality, remove contaminants, and ensure only acceptable items enter the recycling process
- Follow safety procedures and workplace protocols to help maintain a secure and hazard-free environment
- Operate and support sorting equipment as required
