Network Specialist

About the Role

This position is focused on overseeing the entire lifecycle and compliance of software licenses within the enterprise. Responsibilities include managing acquisition, negotiating contracts, maintaining license inventories, and ensuring adherence to legal and licensing requirements. The role aims to optimize license usage and cost-effectiveness while avoiding violations and penalties.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the process of acquiring software licenses, including negotiating contract terms and selecting vendors.
• Keep a detailed and accurate record of all software licenses, including expiration dates, types, and serial numbers.
• Ensure the organization’s compliance with software license agreements to prevent copyright infringements and legal penalties.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through effective use of volume licensing, renegotiations, and acquiring licenses tailored to business needs.
• Perform internal audits to assess software license compliance and areas that require improvement.
• Provide training and awareness programs on software licensing policies to employees across departments.
• Develop strong relationships with software vendors to guarantee the delivery of agreed products and services.
• Prepare regular reports for management concerning software license status, usage analytics, and associated costs.
• Manage timely renewals of software licenses to ensure updates and payments occur as scheduled.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Proficiency in managing software licenses, understanding copyright regulations, various licensing models, and familiarity with license management tools.
• Strong negotiation skills for securing favorable license terms and pricing with suppliers.
• Intermediate English language proficiency.
• Experience ranging from 1 to 2 years in relevant roles.
