Role Overview
The Junior Project Control Engineer will assist in managing planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and cost control activities associated with designing and constructing Passenger Terminal Buildings and associated airport facilities. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will track project schedules, analyze performance, consolidate updates from various technical teams, and ensure timely, accurate reporting aligned with project controls standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules for PTB works using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Monitor progress against approved schedules and analyze variances.
- Collect and consolidate progress data from multidisciplinary teams including Architecture, Structural, MEP, ICT, ELV, Fire & Life Safety, BHS, Security, and Vertical Transportation.
- Track milestones, critical path activities, and interface deliverables.
- Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators summaries.
- Assist in cost tracking, budget monitoring, and forecasting.
- Evaluate contractor and consultant progress submissions for accuracy.
- Maintain project control documentation such as risk registers, change logs, and action trackers.
- Support schedule impact analyses related to design changes, variations, delays, and recovery plans.
- Coordinate timely progress updates among stakeholders.
- Assist with monitoring construction productivity and allocation of resources.
- Contribute to management presentations and project performance reporting.
- Ensure adherence to project controls procedures, reporting standards, and document management protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Certification or formal training in Primavera P6, MS Project, or project management methodologies is beneficial.
- 10 years of experience in project controls focusing on planning, scheduling, and cost management.
- Preferably 5+ years' experience on airport terminal projects, commercial buildings, transportation infrastructure, or large-scale construction.
- Proven track record in managing project control functions.
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project software.
- Experience with Power BI and other dashboard reporting tools.
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost forecasting.
- Knowledge of risk management practices including Monte Carlo analysis.
- Capability in delay analysis and claims management.
- Advanced skills in Excel and data analytics techniques.
- Familiarity with project reporting systems and maintaining accurate records.
