Head Office General Operative

Role Overview

This position involves performing general maintenance and upkeep of building facilities to ensure a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment. Responsibilities focus on minor repairs, routine inspections, and supporting facility operations to uphold high standards on-site.

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute minor repairs and maintenance including refurbishments.
• Fix doors, locking mechanisms, ceilings, walls, floors, and various fixtures.
• Undertake fundamental painting, plastering, carpentry, and plumbing assignments.
• Perform regular inspections and log any defects using facilities management software (CAFM).
• Assist in implementing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Escort external contractors and assist during maintenance activities.
• Maintain external walkways and grounds around the site.
• Help with moving furniture, managing deliveries, keeping stock in order, and overseeing stores.
• Accurately document maintenance work and updates in CAFM systems.
• Comply strictly with Health and Safety protocols for all tasks.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience in facility maintenance, construction, or building operations.
• Proficiency in general maintenance work such as carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
• Awareness and application of Health and Safety standards and safe working practices.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload efficiently.
• Skilled in operating hand and power tools safely.
• Good verbal communication abilities and problem-solving aptitude.

• Safe Pass Certification
• Working at Height Qualification
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Certification
• Abrasive Wheels Training
• Scaffold License
• Experience using Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems
