Job description
Position Overview
The Facilities and Maintenance Officer role focuses on managing maintenance activities for NT Fire and Emergency Services premises in Darwin. This includes administrative buildings, emergency response stations, and Volunteer Units. The incumbent will handle requests through the Urgent Minor Repairs (UMR) system, maintain comprehensive records of service needs, and coordinate with internal NTFES staff as well as external agencies including the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure and private contractors when repairs fall beyond the UMR scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and process maintenance requests via the Urgent Minor Repairs procedure for various NTFES facilities.
- Maintain detailed registers documenting the condition and maintenance status of buildings under NTFES management.
- Collaborate with NTFES employees to prioritize repair needs and ensure issues are properly addressed.
- Engage and communicate with external bodies such as the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure or private service providers when repairs cannot be handled internally or under the UMR scheme.
