Deli Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a diligent Deli Assistant to join our team at Monaghans Centra, Tuam Road, Galway. The key responsibility in this role is to prepare both hot and cold deli food items with a strong focus on customer satisfaction as the top priority.

Candidate Profile

• HACCP training is beneficial though not mandatory
• Strong communication abilities
• Previous experience in customer service is preferred
• Ability to operate effectively within a team in a dynamic and fast-moving setting, including managing multiple tasks under pressure
• Genuine enthusiasm for food and capable of engaging shoppers

Main Duties

• Prepare customer orders across various fresh food sections including assembling sandwiches and rolls, serving hot food, and slicing meats with adherence to portion control procedures
• Cook, prepare, and present foods throughout the operational day
• Maintain attractive and high-standard counter displays for all fresh food sections throughout the day
• Express passion for quality food by sharing knowledge, recipes, and personal recommendations with customers
• Handle customer inquiries promptly, professionally, and in alignment with store policies

Additional Information

Starting and finishing times provided are approximate. Salary details will be discussed upon application. The position requires presence onsite at the Galway location.
