Role Summary
The Assistant Store Manager (Duty Manager) will oversee the daily operations within the store ensuring smooth functioning, customer satisfaction, and effective staff management during assigned shifts. This position requires strong leadership capabilities and practical experience in supermarket management. Candidates with backgrounds in supermarkets, grocery stores, apparel, fashion, quick service restaurants (QSR), or lifestyle sectors with exemplary customer service and leadership skills are encouraged to apply.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure seamless daily store operations during shifts.
- Supervise floor activities, staff allocation, and excellent customer service delivery.
- Manage inventory control, stock availability, and minimize shrinkage.
- Oversee cash counters ensuring billing accuracy.
- Address escalated customer issues ensuring high satisfaction levels.
- Maintain hygiene, safety, and compliance standards within the store.
- Assist the Store Manager in sales initiatives and target attainment.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and motivation to store associates.
Experience and Qualifications
- Prior experience overseeing store operations and managing teams.
- Solid understanding of merchandising, inventory management, and customer engagement.
- Basic educational qualifications are acceptable.
