Role Overview
We seek a motivated and energetic Assistant Store Manager to join our Rutherford location. This leadership role focuses on supporting the Store Manager to boost store performance, nurture a customer-centric atmosphere, and develop team capabilities while embodying Early Settler's core values. Key Duties
- Collaborate closely with the Store Manager to drive sales and meet targets by effectively merchandising products
- Engage with customers to help them realize their home design visions through knowledgeable styling advice, upselling, and cross-selling based on customer needs
- Lead, coach, and motivate the retail sales team to achieve goals and deliver an unforgettable shopping experience
- Assist with daily store operations such as staff rostering, financial oversight, administrative responsibilities, hiring and onboarding new employees
- Contribute to crafting and implementing strategies that maximize sales and customer service, enhancing overall store success

Experience and Skills Required
- At least 2-3 years of retail sales experience with a history of meeting or exceeding targets
- Strong commercial sense paired with a results-oriented approach to transform strategies into achievements
- Proven ability to coach and motivate teams to provide outstanding customer service
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive, resourceful attitude
- Capability to manage the balance between customer care, team development, and administrative duties
- Interest in home décor, furniture, or creating inviting living spaces is an advantage
- Commitment to Early Settler’s values, including adding value, distinctiveness, personalization, expertise, and authenticity
- Physical ability to regularly handle manual tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving furniture items safely and effectively
- Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa allowing work in Australia
- Availability to work during weekends is essential
