Overview
The Amelia Coal Mine, situated in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli District, operates under THDC India Limited with Amelia Coal Mining Limited as the Mining Development Operator (MDO). This mine, equipped with advanced technology like shovels, dumpers, and surface miners, focuses on coal production and overburden removal, aiming for a peak rated capacity of 5.6 million tonnes per annum during its ramp-up phase.
Role Purpose and Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the FLE Store Keeper is to efficiently plan and monitor critical inventory items daily. This includes reviewing inventory monthly, identifying obsolete stock annually, following up on pending purchase orders or indents, coordinating with local suppliers, issuing materials based on requisition slips, and enforcing measures to minimize spoilage.
Inventory and Store Management
The role involves systematic planning and designing of storage systems, segregation of hazardous and perishable items, and securing high-value inventory to ensure safety and efficiency in store upkeep.
Reporting and Coordination
Preparing various management information system (MIS) reports is essential, such as monthly cost sheets, block and repair statements, and reconciliations with the accounts department. The Store Keeper is responsible for submitting comprehensive reports by the 2nd of every month and conducting weekly follow-ups for overdue purchase orders.
Financial Procedures
Tasks include segregation of Goods Receipt Notes (G.R.N), reviewing purchase orders, and liaising with purchasing and accounts departments to facilitate timely short-term payments.
Operational Context and Challenges
The Amelia Coal Mine's operational challenges encompass achieving peak coal production, maintaining safety, upholding coal quality standards, managing land acquisition and resettlement, ensuring statutory compliance, constructing and maintaining infrastructure like Coal Handling Plants and conveyors, and facilitating smooth contract management with THDC and various contractors.
