X-Ray Technologist

Job Overview

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing medical imaging procedures to a high standard with minimal supervision while coordinating closely with radiologists and other medical professionals. The role demands continual knowledge updating and independent judgment to produce quality diagnostic images with the least radiation exposure. Compliance with hospital policies and professional standards is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Interact courteously with patients, colleagues, and hospital staff to foster a harmonious working environment.
• Properly position patients for all imaging procedures ensuring the best quality outcome.
• Select suitable radiation exposure settings and use imaging equipment features tailored to each case; training on equipment will be provided when needed.
• Assist, under supervision and after training, with intravenous administration of radiographic contrast agents as required.
• Promptly initiate emergency protocols when necessary and maintain patient safety by never leaving patients unattended in radiation-controlled zones.
• Adhere strictly to radiation protection standards and guidelines to minimize exposure risks.
• Produce diagnostic images that meet high quality criteria and are properly prepared for radiologist evaluation.
• Remain available and accessible in the work area during scheduled hours.
• Ensure imaging equipment and surrounding areas are clean and sanitized.
• Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule to support hospital healthcare needs.
• Provide educational support to patients and families based on their needs.
• Participate actively in patient-centered care programs organized by the healthcare group.
• Enhance patient experience through compassionate, respectful, and dignified interactions.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by the Radiology Department head.

Education and Professional Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Professional qualification in Radiologic Technology.
• Relevant certifications and a valid license from the Saudi Council.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of two years experience working in a hospital environment, specifically with X-Ray imaging.
