About the Company
We are a leading provider of underground utilities infrastructure services in Singapore, specializing in construction and maintenance of sewer pipelines, road and airfield projects, asphalt premix production, and construction waste recycling.
Position Overview
The Workshop Technician is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing heavy construction machinery and equipment crucial to our underground utilities and road works projects. This role ensures workshop operations support site activities efficiently, minimizing equipment downtime and adhering to safety standards.
Key Duties
- Conduct routine upkeep, troubleshoot problems, and repair machinery such as excavators, breakers, pipe-laying devices, and generators.
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions and implement corrective measures.
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to uphold equipment reliability and safety compliance.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation aligned with company policies.
- Coordinate with site and operations teams to prioritize equipment readiness according to project demands.
- Assist in assembling, testing, and calibrating new or upgraded equipment prior to deployment.
- Manage and ensure availability of tools, spare parts, and consumables within the workshop.
- Strictly follow safety protocols, use personal protective equipment properly, and maintain a clean workspace.
- Contribute to enhancing workshop procedures and maintenance schedules.
- Provide emergency repair assistance on-site when necessary.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by supervisors or departmental heads.
Qualifications
- Possess NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Experience working as a technician in construction or heavy equipment workshop settings.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Able to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Physically capable to perform hands-on tasks in a workshop environment.
- Basic computer literacy for maintenance records and communication purposes.
- Good communication skills, time management, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Valid Class 3 driving license preferred.
Work Conditions & Schedule
- Workweek consists of 6 days with shift rotations as required by operational needs.
- Work location is at No. 3 Sungei Kadut Drive, Singapore 729556, situated in the North Singapore area.
