This position belongs to the Group HR Enablement team responsible for enhancing enterprise HR capabilities including Process Excellence, HR Technology, Reporting & Analytics, Engagement & Governance, and Operations. These areas underpin Prudential’s HR operational model, enabling standardized and scalable HR solutions throughout the Group.
Role Purpose
The Workday HCM Solution Architect will lead the design, implementation, and continual improvement of Workday HCM systems across the Prudential Group and its local business units. Collaborating with HR and technology stakeholders, this role translates business needs into effective, sustainable Workday solutions. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of Workday HCM functionalities, strong solution design skills for end-to-end HR processes, and experience leading HR technology transformations in complex international settings. This position blends strategic vision with hands-on leadership to maximize business impact, adoption, and ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct strategic leadership for implementing and optimizing Workday HCM solutions, ensuring they align with business goals and promote adoption of Workday advancements and best practices.
- Manage and consolidate demand from Centres of Excellence, Local Business Units, and HR stakeholders to formulate a coherent multi-year HR technology roadmap aligning with strategic and transformational priorities.
- Supervise execution of HR technology programs and projects from inception through deployment, testing, and stabilization stages, ensuring alignment with HR transformation and enterprise strategies.
- Define and uphold design principles, architecture standards, and solution guardrails across all Workday initiatives, assuring scalability, standardization, and consistency with enterprise architecture.
- Coordinate stakeholders from HR leadership, COEs, LBUs, and Group Technology to align priorities, timelines, and expectations, and promote cross-functional collaboration to manage competing interests.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Workday HCM modules, actively participating in solution design without being the primary configurator, to enable HR process redesign and transformation.
- Champion operational excellence by standardizing delivery methodologies, tools, and reporting; embed lessons learned for ongoing improvement.
- Advise the HRIS team on delivering quality solutions including design documentation, process flows, mapping, test scripts, and change records supporting delivery, compliance, and maintenance.
- Support solution testing and enablement through validation efforts and by facilitating training, knowledge transfer, and walkthroughs for business and functional teams.
- Maintain current knowledge of Workday releases, product enhancements, and industry best practices, and proactively suggest improvements to enhance user experience, efficiency, and platform value.
- Develop functional and architectural expertise within the HR Technology team, mentoring members and encouraging a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, innovation, and excellence.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in Workday and recommend aligned enhancements for organizational benefit.
